Chandigarh: A retired sub-inspector from Chandigarh police killed his wife on Tuesday morning. The criminal hit his wife's head on the floor several times, killing her on the spot. After the murder, the criminal did not run away but sat next to his wife's body. The police who arrived on receiving information broke open the door and controlled the culprit. The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Kuldeep Kaur.

The culprit has been identified as Kartar Singh. Police have registered a case of murder against the culprit. Kartar Singh reportedly lives with his family in Phase-11. He has two boys in his family. One of the sons is posted in Australia while the other son is posted in Mohali police. The husband and wife were at home on Tuesday morning. The son had gone on duty. This led to a dispute between the two over something. Thereafter, the criminal knocked his wife's head on the floor several times. The room was locked from inside when neighbors tried to hear the woman shouting.

They called the couple's son. He then informed the police. The woman's body was lying inside when the police broke open the door. While the criminal was sitting next to her. He admitted the incident to the police. Police say the criminal retired a few years ago. Since then, he has often had controversies. He had opened fire on his brother-in-law some time ago. He came out of jail some time ago in this case.
