Design
The Huawei Watch Ultimate stands out with its large circular design, resembling a traditional watch at first glance. It has a rugged and robust appearance, measuring 48.5mm × 48.5mm × 13mm, which may not appeal to everyone's taste. Surprisingly, despite its weight of 76g, it doesn't feel bulky or uncomfortable on the wrist.
Huawei has prioritized durability by using Zirconium-based Liquid metal for the watch's case. This material, which is an alloy of some of the toughest metals, including Aluminum, Steel, and Titanium, is stronger and more corrosion-resistant than those metals. The watch also features a ceramic bezel and Sapphire glass, the same material used in premium and luxury watches. Sapphire glass is highly resistant to scratches and ranks just below diamond in terms of hardness.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate comes in two color options: Expedition Black and Voyager Blue. It offers a choice between two straps, a black rubber strap, or a titanium strap for an additional cost.
Water resistance is another standout feature of the watch. It is certified for ISO 22810 and EN13319 standards, with a 10 ATM rating, allowing it to withstand water pressure at a depth of around 100 meters. This makes it suitable for activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and diving, surpassing the capabilities of many competitors.
Controls
The watch employs a combination of touch display and physical buttons for intuitive navigation. It features three simple buttons: an assist button, a rotating crown, and a function button. Swiping down from the top of the screen brings up quick settings like torch, alarm, do not disturb, etc., providing convenient access. Swiping up from the bottom reveals notifications.

Swiping left and right allows users to access important statistics, such as sleep tracking, weather information, fitness targets (e.g., step count and progress), SpO2 level, and heart rate.
Display
The Huawei Watch Ultimate boasts a fantastic 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The screen supports a dynamic refresh rate, ranging from 1 to 60Hz, which helps preserve battery life when not actively scrolling through menus while maintaining excellent clarity and responsiveness.
The display is bright, sharp, and highly detailed, featuring a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a pixel density of 311 PPI. This makes it sharper than most smartwatches available, ensuring clear visibility of your fitness and health stats.
Additionally, the watch offers an always-on display option, which can be turned off to further extend battery life.
