Rajya Sabha member from Congress and senior leader Vivek Tankha here on Friday said that they would be moving Supreme Court challenging the Election Commissioner order revoking the star campaigner status of former chief minister Kamal Nath. Citing repeated violation of code of conduct by Nath, EC on Friday revoked the star campaigner status of Nath.

"The EC move was one-sided so we are moving court challenging its decision on Friday night itself," said Tankha at a programme organized at a private hotel. He said that the EC did not serve any notice seeking an explanation from Nath. "BJP leaders are given 48 hours for responding to EC notice over violation of poll code. In case of Congress, direct action is taken. We are contesting by-polls against two parties - one is BJP and the other is EC," he said.

Tankha accused EC of working at the whims of BJP. He called upon Congress workers present at the programme to continue highlighting poll code violation by BJP leaders. "Nobody is above the law so we keep faith in law and continue to highlight the wrongdoing by the BJP," he said. Hoping that the Congress will regain power in the state, Tankha stated that BJP stole the mandate of people so they are going to teach a lesson to it in the by-polls and install Nath as CM Again.
