Rice is a delicacy in Indian cooking. The plate of food would be incomplete without it. Instead of roti, rice is eaten three times in various parts of the nation. Rice dishes such as dal-rice, rajma-rice, and chickpea rice are popular in India, but did you know that eating rice on a regular basis might be harmful to your health?

Rice is easier to cook than roti and gets cooked quickly. People consume rice for a number of reasons. However, consuming too much rice might make you ill.

Diabetes

There are several drawbacks to eating rice on a regular basis or in big quantities. One of these is also linked to diabetes. At least 10 teaspoons of calories are included in a bowl of cooked rice. If you consume this much of rice on a daily basis, your chances of developing diabetes rise. This increases the blood sugar level. Rice is therefore not recommended for diabetics.
weight gain

Because cooked rice is high in calories, there is a risk of obesity by eating it. If you are already overweight, eat less rice.

Overeating

Rice is a heavy food that immediately fills the stomach and is easily digested. Rice, on the other hand, is quickly digested, and after a time, one begins to feel hungry again. You then eat something to satisfy your hunger, resulting in forced overeating.

Digestive power is weak

The amount of fibre in white rice is very less. Therefore, if rice is eaten in excess, then the problem of gas-acidity starts.

Laziness grows

Rice is a sleep-inducing food. It's difficult to fight sleep, especially if consumed during the day. This is because consuming rice causes the quantity of sugar in the body to rapidly increase, due to which sleepiness starts.

Vitamin C deficiency

White rice contains relatively low vitamin C, thus consuming it deprives the body of essential vitamins and nutrients. This is why it does not help the bones, but when consumed in excess, the bones begin to weaken.
