Robbers vandalized and looted thousands of dollars worth of goods at several retail and luxury stores, including the McKees store at Madison and Fifth Avenues, a popular shopping center in Manhattan. The curfew was imposed in New York City on Tuesday from 11 am to 5 am and authorities have doubled police deployment as looting and violence escalated in the city. The New York City Police Department has deployed nearly 8000 policemen to double the deployment to prevent violence and property damage.
