The day of worship of the Saptarishis is known as Rishi Panchami in India. We can also call it Rishi Panchami Vrat and Rishi Panchami festival. Rishi Panchami fast also has an important place in Hinduism. Especially women keep this fast. If the woman has done something that was not proper during menstruation and the woman is facing many problems due to this, then the woman can get rid of these problems through this fast. Every year this fast is observed on Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhado month, this special festival comes two days after Hartalika Teej and one day after Ganesh Chaturthi.

Rituals performed during Rishi Panchami:

On this day, people who keep a fast, should wake up early in the morning and wear new clothes after having a bath.

This day's fast is very harsh, avoid things which can break your fast.

The important purpose of observing Rishi Panchami fast is that women or girls have to be completely sanctified.

Very few people will be aware that on this day teeth cleaning is done with Upamarga (herb). On this day, there is also a law to bath in the holy rivers.

It is believed that on this day a mixture of butter, basil, milk, and curd should be consumed for spiritual purification.

The fast of Rishi Panchami is such on which women and girls worship seven sages by not worshipping any deity. The names of these 7 great sages are Rishi Vashistha, Rishi Jamadagni, Rishi Gautham, Rishi Vishwamitra, Rishi Bharadwaja, Rishi Atri and Rishi Kashyapa.
