Let us tell you that in Hinduism, the month of Bhado is very important from the point of view of festivals . many festivals like Janmashtami, Hartalika Teej and Ganesh Chaturthi also fall in this month and along with this, the fifth date of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada. The festival of Rishi Panchami is celebrated. Let me tell you that this festival is considered very important in religious terms. This year, Rishi Panchami is being celebrated on 3 September i.e. today. Let me tell you that there is a very old story related to this fast which is heard today. So let's know that story.

Story of Rishi Panchami Vrat - Long time ago a Brahmin named Vidarbha lived with his family. he had a wife, son and a daughter. The Brahmin married his daughter in a good Brahmin clan but unfortunately, her daughter's husband died prematurely, after which his widowed daughter returned to her home. One day suddenly, at midnight, the widow's body started getting insects, due to which her health started to get poor. Seeing the daughter in such a situation, the Brahmin took her to a sage. The sage told that the girl was a Brahmin in her previous birth and that once she was menstruating, she touched the household utensils and started working. Just because of this sin, there are insects in its body because in the scriptures it is forbidden to do the work of a menstruating woman but the daughter of a Brahmin did not follow this, due to which she has to undergo punishment in this birth.

The sage says that if she worships on the 'Rishi Panchami' with full devotion and prays forgiveness, then he will get freedom from his sins. The girl worshipped and fasted according to the law, then she got rid of the sins of her previous birth. In this way, observing fast on 'Rishi Panchmi' like a widow girl eliminates all sins.
