NEW DELHI: Mansukh Mandaviya, the union health minister, will preside over a review meeting with the core team of experts on Thursday amid an increase in COVID-19 cases in India, Source sid. It is also confirmed that the meeting will take place in physical format in the afternoon.

In a bid to monitor the progress of the immunisation exercise HarGharDastak 2.0 campaign, Mandaviya had earlier convened a meeting via video conference with Health Ministers and top officials of States and Union Territories (UTs).

Mandaviya had noted that enhanced and timely testing will enable early detection of COVID patients and help to stop the spread of the illness among the community, highlighting increased case positivity in various districts and States and reduced COVID-19 testing.

He had urged States and UTs to maintain and improve surveillance and concentrate on genome sequencing in order to find new mutations and variants across the nation.

He said that States and UTs must maintain and keep an eye on the five-step plan of Test, Track, Treat, Vaccination, and Adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior.
