Patna: Speculations are rife that RJD president and former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav will reach Patna. Meanwhile, six tonnes of lanterns are being installed in the party office to welcome him. A gas pipeline is also being laid to ensure that the lanterns burn round the clock. The RJD says Lalu Prasad Yadav is likely to reach Patna on October 20. He is also likely to campaign in two assembly seats.

According to media reports, Lalu will move to Patna only after receiving the advice of AIIMS doctors. In a video, Lalu is also seen saying that he often asks the doctor of AIIMS when he can go to Patna. Lalu is saying that he will leave for Patna when he gets the green signal from AIIMS. Lalu is also seen talking to party leaders about the bypoll in the video.

In April this year, the Ranchi High Court granted bail to Lalu in the fodder scam case. He was granted this bail in connection with an illegal withdrawal of Rs 13.3 crore from the Dumka treasury. Lalu has already got bail in three other fodder scam cases before he was granted bail in the Dumka treasury case. The special court in CBI had sentenced Lalu to seven years imprisonment each under the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the illegal withdrawal case from the Dumka treasury.
