Patna: Rajya Sabha member of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and former deputy CM of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi has targeted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), alleging to contest assembly elections in Bengal, Assam to help anti-national forces.

Sushil Modi further said that two senior RJD leaders Shyam Rajak and Abdul Bari Siddiqui had recently visited these two states to explore the possibilities of contesting the assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam, but both places had no influential The political party did not give grass to RJD. Taking a dig at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Sushil Modi said that he stood with Mamata Banerjee at a Kolkata rally in 2019, but the Trinamool Congress is not even ready to give 5 seats to RJD in the upcoming West Bengal elections.

Shyam Rajak and Abdul Bari Siddiqui had met Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee during their stay in West Bengal. During this meeting, the possibilities of RJD contesting elections in Bengal were discussed. However, there was no concrete result of this meeting whether RJD will contest elections in West Bengal by an alliance with TMC or will contest alone.
