Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) national president Jayant Chaudhary on Tuesday hit out at the Yogi Adityanath government in UP over the bail granted to Lakhimpur Kheri case accused Ashish Mishra and accused the BJP of being anti-farmer. Chaudhary also questioned why the UP government did not file a review petition in the apex court after the Allahabad High Court verdict, which granted bail to Ashish Mishra, son of the main accused in the case Ashish Mishra and Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni.

Jayant Chaudhary's remarks came a day after families of Lakhimpur Kheri violence victims moved to the Supreme Court a day before assembly elections in the district. Chaudhary tweeted, "Yogi ji should tell, why was he so happy with Ashish Mishra Teni getting bail? Why did the UP government not file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court's verdict? It's clear: the BJP government is anti-farmer. '

In another tweet, the RLD chief said, "They don't have any plan, only cow dung!!! On February 10, the Lucknow single-judge bench of the high court had granted relief while granting bail to Ashish Mishra, who had spent four months in jail.''
