Bareilly, In a tragic incident, two homeguards were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a car in Civil Lines area.

According to the police, “Dayashankar Pathak, 57, and Hasnain, 50, were on their way to take part in a sit-in organised by homeguards at Damodar Park when the mishap took place yesterday”.

While Pathak died on the spot, Hasnain was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police added.

The bodies have been sent for the post-mortem.

Tempers ran high at the demonstration of homeguards after the news of the accident spread.

But, the situation was, under control, police said.
