Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the work of filling the pits of roads has started in the midst of rain. The Public Works Department has set an initial budget of Rs 45 crore for the screwwork. With this amount, mud-soil will be put in the pits. With this, the amount will also be extracted from the main budget. Due to lack of repairs, the condition of many major roads of the state is seen to be in disrepair. Due to Corona crisis and lockdown in the state, the work of repair and construction of roads remained closed for the last one and a half months. Due to this, the dilapidated roads could not be repaired in many districts. During the lockdown, work was started at the departmental level with necessary precaution at construction sites, but the pace of work could not increase.

However, departmental officials in all districts had given an ultimatum to complete the roadwork before 15 June. After this, work was also done in some places. Apart from this, due to the problem of payment of contractors, many contractors pulled out of construction works or slowed down the work. The monsoon is going to work for transportation, in such a situation, the department has now given instructions to fill the potholes of shabby roads. Asphaltization cannot be done during the rains, so the department will now make some kind of work to transport the roads by filling mud and murmur in the rain.

During the recent video conference of the departmental officers, the principal secretary of the department has directed that due to the corona, the extension of three months for the contractors will be increased, but after that the construction work agreement has been delayed. But fines will be imposed every day. Asphaltization on the roads will be done after the rain.
