CHIKKABALLAPUR:  Three interstate robbers from Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh were apprehended on Tuesday after robbing a police officer's home in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur district and shooting his son.

Arif (35), of Bahiram, Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh; Jumshed Khan (27), of Chintaman Khate, Milak taluk, Rampur district; and Pathan Mohammad Harris Khan (30), of Kadiri, Satya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh, were the people who were arrested.

Three firearms, 46 bullets, Rs. 3.41 lakh in cash, a gold necklace, 21 silver objects, and the vehicle used in the crime were all confiscated by the police from the accused. For other suspects in the case, the search remains on.
A group of five thieves broke into the home of assistant police sub-inspector (ASI) Narayana Swamy on November 9 and wounded his son before stealing gold jewellery and money.

Sharath, the son of ASI Narayanaswamy, was shot three times by the robbers. His condition is still critical and he was admitted to the local hospital.

After breaking into the home, the robbers brandished the pistol and threatened Narayanaswamy, his wife, and his daughter-in-law. The robbers had forced Narayanaswamy outside and threatened to kill his family members if he notified anybody about the occurrence.

Sharath, who was also at house, came to the rescue of his family members post, which robbers opened fire on him. The investigation had been taken up by the Paresandra police. Further investigation is on.
