A day after Congress president Sonia Gandhi wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on fuel price hike, her son-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra registered his protests against fuel prices by riding a cycle to commute to his office.

Wearing a suit and helmet, he cycled from Khan Market area to his office and hit out at the Modi government saying PM Narendra Modi should come out of his "AC cars and see how people are suffering".

Video shared by news agencies showed that two others were following Vadra on cycles. Policemen were also seen controlling the traffic.

Vadra also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sitting in AC cars while people bear the brunt of the rise in fuel prices. “You (PM) must come out from AC cars and see how people are suffering and perhaps then you’d reduce fuel prices,” he said.

"All he does is blame others (previous governments) for everything and move on," he added.

In Madhya Pradesh too, Congress leaders including PC Sharma, Jitu Patwari and Kunal Chaudhary rode their cycles to the Legislative Assembly. Petrol price in the state has already surged past the Rs 100-mark.
