'Robot 2' director Shankar's son-in-law booked, accused of raping 16-year-old girl

There has been a piece of big news from the South film industry. In fact, police have registered an FIR against S Shankar's son-in-law Rohit Damodaran, who has directed Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer films 'Robot 2.' According to reports, five persons, including cricketer Rohit, have been accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old minor girl. Rohit Damodaran has reportedly been booked under the POCSO Act at Mettupalayam police station in connection with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.

According to some media reports, the victim had first lodged a complaint with the management against Madurai Panthers cricket team coach Thamraikannan in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, raising her voice against the crime against her. But when no action was taken against the accused, the victim approached the Puducherry Child Welfare Committee (PCWC).

Following the girl's complaint, PCWC registered a case against coaches Thamraikannan and Jayakumar, Madurai Panthers Cricket Club president Damodaran and their son Rohit Damodaran and secretary Venkat at Mettupalayam police station. As part of the information received in the case, the victim's complaint says that the sexual assault took place when she went to the cricket club for a cricket check. However, police are yet to arrest any of the accused in the case. According to reports, the police are investigating the case and ascertaining whether Rohit Damodaran was really involved in the case.
