Switzerland's tennis player Roger Federer has done the best, defeating Milos Raonic of Canada, and has won Mercedes Cup (Stuttgart Open). According to the BBC, the 36-year-old Federer beat the Raonic 6-4, 7-6 in the final match played on Sunday. Federer was playing on the court for the first time since attending the Miami Open in March.

The Swiss player made this match on his name in one hour.  This is the 21st win in 23 games so far this year of Federer. In the 14 matches against the Raonic, this is his second successive win over 11th and Grass court. Federer also beat the Raonic in Wimbledon last year. Top-seeded Federer (36 years) had reached number one in the rankings before the match, whose official confirmation would be in the rankings issued on Monday. He will play as the top seed in Halle next week.

Federer is currently on second place in the ATP ranking as he did not play in the French Open. Federer was away from Clay Court for the second consecutive year. Due to not participating in the French Open, Federer's first position, King of the Clay Court, Rafael Nadal won the title of the French Open and managed to grab the first place in the ATP rankings.

Nadal won the men's singles title of the French Open Tennis Tournament of the second Grand Slam of the year by defeating Austria's Dominic Theme. In the year 2005, at the age of 19, he became the 11th French Open and 17th Grand Slam title for Nadal's career as a champion for the first time.
