Rohit Sharma led team India on Friday defeated Newzealand in second T-20 and leveelled the series by 1-1 and with victory Sharma achieved one more feat. After leading the Indian side in a T20I for the 14th time, he went on to not just beat MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for most number of wins as captain in the format for India but also go joint-top on the overall list.

Yesterday victor was not convincing only for Team India in Auckland but also a statistically important one for the Mumbai batsman. The match saw Rohit also record the most number of wins as captain of the Indian team after 14 matches, with 12, while Kohli and Dhoni were only able to bag 8 each as captains, respectively, in the same duration. The 12-match win in 14 games also puts Sharma joint-top, alongside Pakistan's Sarfraz Ahmed and Australia's Michael Clarke in the list of captains with most wins in the said duration worldwide.

After scoring a half-century on Friday, Rohit went on to surpass Pakistan's Shoaib Malik and New Zealand's Martin Guptill in the list of T20I top-scorers to bag the summit position. The 50-run knock proved pivotal in India's chase of 159 runs, with Rohit emerging as the top run-scorer for the team in the match.

Now after levelling up the series, India will lock horns with the host in  final T20I in Hamilton to be played on Sunday.
