New Delhi: The agriculture sector in the country is always in discussions due to the crisis. There have been several big movements about this. In recent times, technology has played an important role in the agricultural sector. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Agricultural Outlook Forum, 2019, Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal said that artificial intelligence has helped in preparing the data for the agricultural sector. On the first day of the two-day forum, the Agriculture Secretary said that data is being collected from the registration to be done in the operation of the agricultural sector schemes.
Farmers' holdings have been digitized in all parts of the country. While preparing crop insurance, soil health card and Kisan credit card has helped in the preparation of data. This is also helping to provide assistance to farmers. He informed that pilot projects are being run in four districts of four states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
Artificial intelligence and modern technology are being used fiercely in these districts. During this time, discussions will be held between agricultural scientists and policy regulators from other parts of the country and the world. It is through the data and these modern techniques that the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme has helped immensely in the payment of compensation. Up to $ 3.5 billion has been disbursed to two crore farmers. Provisions such as the purchase and sale of agricultural produce have started getting convenience. The government is very vigilant towards farmers in its second term.
