Rolls-Royce has officially came into the world of electric cars, unveiling its first-ever all-electric premium automobile, the Rolls-Royce Spectre, on Wednesday. Tosten Muller-Otvos, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, posted the news and the teaser image on LinkedIn.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre will play a key part in ushering in a new era for the almost 115-year-old British automotive powerhouse, with plans for a big entry into the realm of electric transportation. And Muller-Otvos emphasised how well-suited Rolls-Royce is to provide electrified automobiles. “We have a significant edge as we begin on this bright new era. More than any other vehicle brand, electric propulsion is uniquely and completely suited to Rolls-Royce automobiles "He went on to clarify. “It's quiet, smooth, and produces torque nearly quickly before generating massive power. Waftability is what we term it at Rolls-Royce ".

Muller-Otvos went on to say that Rolls-Royce customers who have been seeking for an all-electric alternative would find the Spectre to be everything they expect from a modern luxury automobile. “It's a moniker that perfectly matches the ethereal and otherworldly atmosphere in which our products reside - a name we've saved only for this occasion: Spectre. It's the moniker that'll catapult the world's most progressive and powerful women and men into a dazzling, electric future," he added. 

Despite the fact that no technical information about the Rolls-Royce Spectre have been released, the electric luxury car is expected to make a big impression in an elite club of automobiles that cater to the world's affluent and famous. And the Spectre is only the beginning. “With this new product, we establish our credentials for fully electrifying our whole product line by 2030,” says the company "Muller-Otvos said. “By that time, Rolls-Royce will no longer be producing or marketing internal combustion engine goods." 

In 2023, the Spectre is scheduled to be released in a limited number of markets. Rolls-Royce debuted the first electric concept based on the Phantom in 2011. In 2016, Rolls-Royce unveiled the Vision Next 100 concept car, which was entirely electric and had self-driving capabilities.
