Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football star, has stirred up controversy once more, this time following an altercation with a staff member of a rival football team.

Ronaldo was contacted by an Al-Kaleej employee who requested a selfie after Ronaldo's team lost to Al-Kaleej. Ronaldo, however, was not in the mood to pose for photos and shoved the man aside as he walked towards the tunnel. This incident follows a spate of heated exchanges throughout Ronaldo's turbulent season.

The Saudi Pro League match between Ronaldo's team, Al-Nassr, and Al-Kaleej ended in a 1-1 draw, dropping them two points behind league-leading Al-Ittihad. Al-Nassr's chances of catching up are diminished by the draw because they only have four games remaining to play and the margin could grow to five points. Ronaldo's disappointment was increased by the fact that he was scoreless, raising the prospect of him finishing his debut campaign in Saudi Arabia without any medals.

In a 4-0 victory over Al-Raed last month, Ronaldo was accused of acting petulantly when he reacted furiously after being refused a penalty. The five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or raised his arms in anger and berated the referee. He continued to show his displeasure after a VAR check failed to reverse the judgement.

Despite having a contract with Al-Nassr through the end of 2025, there have been rumours that Ronaldo is already preparing to leave the club. The footballer has found it difficult to have a substantial impact on the campaign, which has not gone as smoothly as envisaged.

The footballer, who had a contentious split from Manchester United, agreed to a lucrative £172 million contract to play in Saudi Arabia.
