One of Ronit Roy's most well-known roles is still his appearances in the 2000s television shows Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The actor recalled that back then, when he was desperate for work and success, he worked nonstop. In reality, he didn't leave the Balaji Telefilms sets for days.

On Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Ronit Roy played Rishabh Bajaj opposite Shweta Tiwari's Prerna. Ronit's contract was extended because the character was so well-liked even though Mr. Bajaj was only supposed to have a brief three-month role. As a result, he was cast as Mihir Virani in Balaji Telefilms' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, opposite Smriti Irani's Tulsi, a role that had previously been held by Amar Upadhyay and Inder Kumar.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day India, Ronit recalled how his Kasautii Zindagii Kay character, despite standing in the way of the show's two main characters, Prerna and Anurag, received a lot of love from the audience (Cezanne Khan). I got a lot of love from everyone, but Anurag and Prerna were the exception, he said in jest. Where did you come from? Why is he here? Were frequent questions I would hear? Of course, no one enjoys having their thunder stolen... The job description stated that it would last for three months and required me to salt and peppers my hair. No other actor at this age is prepared to have white in their hair, according to Ekta Kapoor, so you have to do it. She desired a younger actor to portray an older man in order to achieve Richard Gere's youthful appearance."

Additionally, he remembered how his schedule became incredibly busy after he signed on for both Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Ekta Kapoor's production company. He stated: "They stated that you must put in a 12-hour shift, during which we will manage both shows. We used to film for Kyunki from 7 am to 7 pm, and I used to film for Kasautii from midnight to 7 am. I introduced myself and said, "Hello, I haven't been home in a week. I told them, "I'm working 24 hours, not 12," and they responded, "Yes, 12 and 12 (for two shows)." But I never voiced a complaint. After five or six years, I was employed. I was ravenous for work, for food, and for achievement. The director of Kasautii, Qaeed Kuwajerwala, had a mathematics degree and was very helpful. He used to work with me on a scene and then tell me to take a one-hour nap while he did other people's work. Previously, I used to sleep 3–4 hours a day. After eating my lunch, I would sleep for 45 minutes.

In Shamshera, Ronit Roy was most recently spotted with Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, and other actors. He has upcoming projects like Shehzada by Rohit Dhawan, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, and Bloody Daddy by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra, starring Shahid Kapoor, Diana Penty, Rajiv Khandelwal, and Sanjay Kapoor. He will also be seen alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in Gumrah.
