Lucknow: A 'Roti bank' for bovines has been launched in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Now every day a Roti comes from each house of the village to feed the cows. On the initiative of Sadar Tehsildar Rajiv Mohan Saxena, this Roti bank has been started under the supervision of Mansoor Ali, the Muslim pradhan representative of the village. Tehsildar Rajiv Mohan Saxena said that a total of 22 cowsheds are run in the Sadar tehsil. However, the cowsheds that operate at Rudragarh Nausi in the Mujehna development block is the most different.

He said that there are about 400 bovines in these cowsheds and their fodder and water is managed under the supervision of the gram pradhan representative Mansoor Ali Ansari. Saxena inspected the cowsheds on Saturday. Sadar Tehsildar Rajiv Mohan Saxena had proposed to give a Roti to the villagers. Which the villagers gladly accepted. The gaushala in Rudragarh Nausi Gram Sabha was started in the year 2018 and has been running since then. Rudragarh is the wife of Mansoor Ali, pradhan of Nausi Gram Sabha. Ali is active as the gram pradhan representative.

Ali said he has 1,500 houses in the gram panchayat.  The pradhan's representative said that at present, 10 to 11 quintals of straw and 75 kg of animal feed are arranged daily for the cowsheds. 10 labourers of the gram panchayat have been engaged to take care of 385 bovines in the cowsheds, whose 99 days' remuneration is paid from MGNREGA and other days' wages are paid from the village fund.
