New Delhi [India], June 08 (NT): In shocking news the decaying body of a man was found in the servant quarter of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday night.

The dead, recognized as Trilok Chand, was a resident of Gandhi Nagar area in Delhi and lately came to stay in the servant quarter.

The body, which is said to be two to three days old, began to decay in the room.

When the smell came from the room, the neighbors informed the South Avenue police station.

As per the reports to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), the room was locked from the inside and the man was alone.

As per preliminary inquiry, the DCP said it looks like a natural death, as the man was in poor health.

The DCP further stated that an investigation proceeding will be held.

A 50-year-old Triloki Chand, who was employed in the President’s Secretariat as a Class IV employee, was sick for some time and for the past few months and his treatment was undergoing, police further said.

 “The deceased was found on the bed. No foul play suspected. It seems that the man died around five days ago. The body has been shifted to the mortuary for post mortem. The cause of death can only be clear after the post mortem report. We are trying to contact family members of the deceased,” said a police official was quoted by The Hindu.
