During a search operation in the Bhalswa dairy area on Thursday evening, bike riding miscreants shot a Delhi Police soldier. The bullet is in the soldier's stomach. The injured soldier has been admitted to Max Hospital where his condition remains critical. After the incident, the top police officers have reached the spot and are investigating. The injured soldier has been identified as Sandeep. He was posted at Bhalswa Dairy Police Station. On Thursday, Sandeep, along with other policemen, was checking the vehicles by placing a picket near the police booth at D Block, JJ Colony. At around 6 pm, three youths riding on a bike came there. Sandeep gestured them to stop and asked the young man driving the bike to show him the papers of the bike.
As it is learned that one of the youths attacked the soldier with a bullet. The bullet hit Sandeep's stomach and he fell there. Seeing this, other policemen chased him to catch the miscreants. But the policemen failed completely in their attempt, and the accused escaped from there. The injured Sandeep was admitted to the nearby Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. From where he was referred to Max Hospital. After getting the information of the incident, the top police officer of the district reached the spot and started investigating.
According to the information received, all the policemen of the district were instructed to apprehend them. The police has registered a case against unknown miscreants for obstructing government work and attempt to murder. The police is trying to identify the miscreants by digging footage of CCTV cameras in the direction of the miscreants fleeing.
