Royal Enfield stated on Tuesday that the 90° SOUTH mission, a quest for the South Pole on the famous Himalayan ADV, was accomplished successfully. Santhosh Vijay Kumar and Dean Coxson, corporate riders, reached the South Pole on December 16th, 2021, after a 15-day journey.

The Royal Enfield crew set off from Cape Town towards Novo, Antarctica, travelling an overland route of 3200 kilometres in 9 days, riding in temperatures as low as -30 to -25 degrees Fahrenheit with a wind speed of 60 kilometres per hour, in order to reach the Ross Ice Shelf. Due to unanticipated situations, the scheduled starting site 'Ross Ice Shelf' had to be relocated, according to the business. "The cyclists' chosen starting location was the Ross Ice Shelf. However, the crew was forced to change its plans due to an unexpected snowfall. The crew started the trip from 87 degrees south instead of 86 degrees south, according to the company.

For this adventure, the company has customized two Himalayan bikes. To decrease motorcycle drag and emissions to an absolute minimum, these bikes were ridden to the South Pole on a compacted snow track. The company also stated that as part of its #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter effort, the Royal Enfield staff is ensuring that all waste, including human waste, is brought back for proper disposal in order to maintain a clean environment. The Royal Enfield crew is now its route to Punta Arenas, Chile, from Union Glacier in the western part of Antarctica.
