Mumbai: Union Minister and Republic Party of India (RPI) chief Ramdas Athawale said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joins Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), it will suffer politically. Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Ramdas Athawale has said, "The Republican Party of India (A) stands firmly with the BJP and the party is getting the support of Dalits." Therefore, support of MNS is not required as its politics is regional.

MNS's aggressive attitude against Hindi-speaking migrants will also damage a national party like BJP. "Athawale has said that the BJP will suffer loss not only in Mumbai but across the country. It is worth noting that Raj Thackeray had recently met former CM and BJP veteran Devendra Fadnavis, which led to speculation of political equations.

The Shiv Sena, a former ally of the BJP, has split from it to form an alliance with the Congress and NCP, and this coalition holds power in Maharashtra. Let me tell you that BJP and Shivna had fought the elections in alliance, but due to the demand for CM post, Shiv Sena distanced itself from BJP and formed government with Congress-NCP.
