Tadipatri : One or the other case of children addicted to online games keeps coming to the fore every day. In one such shocking incident, a class 8th child addicted to online games was arrested by the police for theft. The matter was disclosed by DSP VSK Chaitanya in a press conference held at the Nagar police station on Wednesday.

According to the police, a boy from Narpala, addicted to online games, dropped out of school in class 8 and used to play online games continuously. When he needed money for the game, he resorted to theft and stole money from three houses in Narpala. Not only this, in Tadipatri on 1st and 4th of this month carried out a series of thefts in rural areas and stole Rs 3.79 lakh cash and gold jewelery worth Rs 3 lakh.

According to the complaint, the urban and rural police have registered a case and issued a high alert. On Wednesday, during the inspection of vehicles in Autonagar, the boy was taken into custody and interrogated on the basis of suspicion, when he confessed to the theft. DSP VNK Chaitanya said Rs 3.79 lakh in cash and Rs 3 lakh in gold jewelery were seized from the boy. The DSP said that three cases have been registered in the theft incidents in Narpala.
