New Delhi: On January 1, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat will release a new book on Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, Delhi on New Year. Titled 'Making of a Hindu Patriot: Background of Hind Swaraj', this book has been written by JK Bajaj and MD Srinivas. Bajaj is a director and Srinivas Trustee at the Delhi-based Center for Policy Studies. Union ministers Prahlad Patel and V Muralitharan will be present at the book's launch.

Before the launch, Bajaj spoke about the subject of the book in a conversation with a private news channel. According to Bajaj, this book talks about Mahatma Gandhi's journey to become a 'conscious Hindu', Porbandar from birth in Gujarat to 1914 when he toured England and South Africa. Bajaj says he read the Gita in Sanskrit in England. When he went to South Africa, during the first year in Pretoria, his employer was a Muslim whose attorney was a Christian.

Since Gandhi was a very religious person, both of them offered him to join their religion. Gandhi told him that he would consider it. However, before conversion, they would like to be convinced that their own religion is not enough to fulfil the expectations that religion wants. "If I see anything missing, I will come to you."
