RSS calls Bengal violence was pre-planned, appeals to Centre to take all possible steps

New Delhi: Violence has erupted in several districts since the results of assembly elections in West Bengal came out. Dozens of political activists have been killed during this period, which the Union Home Ministry is also investigating. Meanwhile, the rashtriya swayamsevak sangh (RSS) has also come out with a response. the RSS has demanded the Central and State Governments to take all possible steps to prevent violence in the state.

On Friday, Union Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosbole issued a statement saying that the state-wide violence in Bengal, which took place in an uncontrolled manner immediately after the election results, is not only condemnable but also pre-planned. During this period, women were brutally treated, innocent people were brutally murdered, thousands of people, including brothers from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes community, have been forced to shelter in safe places to protect their lives by being rendered homeless from their homes.

The statement said "RSS strongly condemns the gruesome violence. We are of the view that the uncontrolled violence after the election results is against the basic spirit of the Constitution".
