New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed organisation Sanskrit Bharati, in one of its programmes said that Sanskrit is a language that unites India. The Narendra Modi-led government will have to promote it at every level in the country. Sanskrit Bharati also felicitated 47 newly-appointed Lok Sabha MPs, including Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan, Pratap Sarangi, Ashwini Chaube and Sripad Yeso Naik, who were sworn in Sanskrit Bharti.

According to the IANS report, Dinesh Kamat, National General Secretary of Sanskrit Bharati and an RSS veteran leader, said that the Lok Sabha Speaker has been approached to organise training sessions to familiarize MPs with ancient languages. RSS Enlightened Mandal member Kamat has said that Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar had said that Sanskrit should be declared as the official language of India.

Kamat further said that when Dr. Saheb Ambedkar was told that the Sanskrit language was linked to the Brahmins and he should not propagate the language, Ambedkar told his followers that vyas, the great poet of Sanskrit, was awarded the title of Valmiki and even Mahakavi. Kalidas was not even a Brahmin. Sanskrit develops human beings, it unites India.
