New Delhi: RSS will now run an army school. The union is set to open military schools since 2020. Here, children will be trained to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces. These students will be run by Vidya Bharati, the education wing of the RSS. According to a newspaper report, the name of the school will be Rajju Bhaiya Sainik Vidya Mandir.

It is named after Rajendra Singh alias Rajju Bhaiya, a former Sarsangha driver of the Sangh. The first branch of Rajju Bhaiya Sainik Vidya Mandir will be held at Victimpur in Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh. This is where Rajju Bhaiyya, the former Sarsangha driver of the Sangh, was born in 1922. Residential school for boys is under construction.

Vidya Bharati will adopt the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as a course here. It will have students from 6th to 12th standard. The classes are expected to start from April 2020. Officials said more similar schools could be started soon if the scheme is successful.

According to officials, Vidya Bharati has prepared a brochure on the school. Applications for nominations are also likely to be invited from August-September. Vidya Bharati, the education branch of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, operates more than 20,000 schools across the country.
