Nellore: Kavali RTC Bus Depot organized a massive blood donation camp and collected around 150 units of blood in connection with Road Safety Fortnight on Tuesday. One Town Circle Inspector K Srinivasulu formally inaugurated the camp and said that it is welcome to donate blood besides imparting knowledge on safety aspects to the staff members. 

Kavali Depot Manager K Srihari said that the Red Cross state wing had provided oxygen concentrators to APSRTC during the peak pandemic and hence staff members are donating blood across the state. Garla Sudarshan Rao, Treasurer, Indian Red Cross Society Tirupati Division said that blood donation should become a periodic habit for every citizen which can save the lives of many poor and urged the public to come forward to donate blood voluntarily, keeping misunderstandings away. demanded. RTC employees donated blood to the Indian Red Cross Society at Alipiri Depot, Tirupati on Tuesday. 

Around 77 employees of various depots including Alipiri, Tirupati, Mangalam, Srikalahasti and Pilar have donated their blood. Speaking on the occasion, Regional Manager (RM) Chengal Reddy said that blood donation saves lives of persons whose condition was critical. T Madhusudan Rao, Deputy Traffic Manager, RTC, E Venkateswaralu, President of Red Cross Society Tirupati Mandal, Secretary Subbarao, Dr. Yog Nagendra and RTC staff were present. He said that more than 30 staff members donated blood more than 20 times.
