Bhojpur: A clash broke out between police and villagers in a village in Bhojpur district on Friday in which 4 policemen were reportedly injured. The fight took place in Ayur village due to the immersion of a statue of Sun God when police banned the playing of DJs here. Angry residents clashed with the police and pelted stones.

A total of four policemen, including ASI Deepak Kumar and home guard Mahendra Singh, were injured in the fight which turned violent from the religious. All have been admitted to the local CHC (Community Health Centre) for treatment. Police have taken action in the case and detained two persons, Om Prakash Chaudhary and Mithilesh Chaudhary, who live in Ayur village.

In fact, it is in the village pond that people perform Chhath Puja. Like every year, this time too, people has installed a statue of The Sun God. The police station in charge had talked about the rules that approval was required to take out the procession. People had said that we keep the statue here and immerse it in the pond, no procession is taken out. According to police, people took out a procession playing DJ on Friday afternoon due to idol immersion. On receiving the news, the police station in charge rushed there and expressed objection. This led to an argument between the people and the police, which turned into a violent clash.
