Patna: BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal on Thursday attacked Sonia Gandhi on the issue of foreign origin citing Chanakya. He said this when congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's reaction was sought to his derogatory remarks on President Murmu.

The same Sanjay Jaiswal was asked about the controversy over Chowdhury's slip of the tongue, who made objectionable remarks about the President. BJP leader Sanjay Jaiswal said, "It is the habit of the Congress that they want to demean every person who comes into politics after recovering from adversities arising from a humble family background.''

Apart from this, this statement of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also created an uproar inside Parliament and surrounded Sonia Gandhi among BJP leaders like Union Minister Smriti Irani. Sanjay Jaiswal targeted Sonia, blaming congress for the misunderstanding of the West Bengal MP. Jaiswal said that we are in the land of Chanakya and Chandragupta (Bihar). It would be appropriate to recall what the great political philosopher Chanakya had said. Let me tell you that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had called President 'Rashtrapatni.'
