According to reports, one of his romantic comedy films with director Rumi Jaffery was scheduled to hit the floor in May 2020 but the lockdown was announced earlier in April and the film hung. Now recently director Rumi Jaffery recalled Sushant Singh Rajput and told him about the last thing he had happened to him. Talking to a website, Rumi Jaffery said, "We had a very sweet relationship. We didn't click many pictures. But he often came to our house. We all sat at home and ate my wife's hand-made food. He loved homemade food. Life is so cruel. We used to talk to him and today we are talking about him".

He also said, "It was exactly a year ago. We last spoke at exactly 3 p.m. on the night of June 12. Everything was fixed. The music was the final. Sushant was a little upset when the lockdown took place. About shooting for this film. We were all optimistic that things would return to normal soon but then the lockdown kept increasing. When things got late, Sushant had said that we should prepare another short script that needs less people to shoot and be a low budget film, like some Rajesh Khanna starrer Ittefaq. We were just looking for a film story for it. These things had been going on since May".

Rumi Jaffery then said, 'Sushant was a lively man and had a child inside him. He used to hug and love me many times. Our relationship was very strong. It was bigger than an actor-director'. Let us tell you that Sushant's death shook everyone and no one liked his sudden departure.
