Monday;July 11,2016 :Rupee appreciated by 26 paise at 67.11 against the US dollar today.
According to the forex dealers said, "a strong opening in domestic equity markets beefed up the rupee, but dollar's strength against other currencies overseas following bigger-than-expected jump in US job creation capped rupee's gains".
The rupee had gained 2 paise to close at 67.37 on Friday after fresh selling of the greenback amid volatile domestic equities.
However, the Sensex soared 404.46 points, or 1.49 %, to 27,531.36 in early trade.
