The rupee well gained by 5 paise to 67.11 against the US dollar in today’s trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on fresh selling of the US currency by banks and exporters.

As per the Forex dealers said, “A higher opening in the domestic equity market and a weakening dollar against other currencies overseas supported the rupee.”

Yesterday, the rupee recoiled from its one-week high to close 13 paise lower at 67.16 besides the US money on fresh bouts of dollar require from importers.

However, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 111.60 points, or 0.41 %, to 26,837.20 in early trade on Tuesday.
