The Rupee has opened higher today in the early trade. The rupee is 11 paise higher at 68.09 against dollar.
The 30-share Sensex opened 53.54 points, or 0.20 per cent, up at 27170.88, while the 50-share Nifty index opened 15.55 points, or 0.19 per cent, up at 8,407.05.
As per the reports, Forex dealers said that besides selling of the American greenback by exporters and banks, weakness in the dollar against other currencies overseas supported the rupee.
They further said that a higher opening in the domestic equity market influenced the rupee uptrend.
On Monday, the local currency was two paise lower at 68.20.
