In the early trade today, the Rupee recovered by 17 paise against the US dollar. As per the reports, the forex dealers said Besides, the dollar's weakness against some currencies overseas supported the rupee but a lower opening of the domestic equity market capped its gains.
On Friday, the local unit lowered by 5 paise as the dollar got strengthened henceforth the Donald Trump Presidential inauguration.
In the morning, the benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 70.92 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 26,963.58.
