Mumbai: The rupee valued by 13 paise to 66.67 against the US dollar in today’s early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on hiked selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.

Forex dealers said,“domestic equity markets opening with gains and dollar's weakness against other currencies overseas too supported the rupee.”

They further added, “Yesterday, the rupee had lost three paise to hit two-month closing low of 66.80 on persistent dollar demand from banks and importers on the back of higher greenback in the overseas market.”

However, the benchmark BSE Sensex climbed by 167.22 points or 0.65 %  to 25,820.45 in early trade today.
