Moscow: Russia's President Vladimir Putin can continue to be the President of the nation even after 2024. Putin's current term is being completed in 2024. After that, there were constitutional bottlenecks in his becoming president. In view of this, a resolution has been passed in the Parliament there on Wednesday. After this, Putin can continue for 12 years and President after 2024.

According to news agency PTI, the Constitutional Amendment Bill was introduced in Duma, the lower house of Parliament. This resolution was passed by 383 votes. Now even after the current term ends in 2024, Putin can become President twice, i.e. for 12 years. Voting on the proposed amendment will take place on April 22 across the country. The constitutional court of Russia will review this proposal before voting across the country.

However, this amendment is also being severely criticized. Protesters against Putin have announced a demonstration against it. 67-year-old Putin has ruled Russia for more than 20 years. Sometimes he was the President, sometimes he was the PM. This is his fourth term. He won for the fourth time in the election of March 2018 and now he will continue to hold the position of President of Russia till the year 2024.
