Mosco: Russian military officials say to have fired a barrage of cruise missiles towards Ukrainian military facilities.

Maj Gen Igor Konashenkov, a spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry, said on Saturday that the military has hit a number of Ukrainian military installations with long-range Kalibr cruise missiles.

Konashenkov said, Russia's military has hit 821 Ukrainian military facilities, including 14 air bases and 19 command centres, and destroyed 24 air defence missile systems, 48 radars, seven warplanes, seven helicopters, nine drones, 87 tanks, and eight military vessels since the attack began on Thursday. He did not specify how many Ukrainian forces were killed, nor did he identify any Russian casualties. His statements, as well as Ukraine's claims that its forces killed tens of thousands of Russian soldiers, could not be independently corroborated.

Konashenkov went on to say  that the Russian military has taken complete control of Melitopol, a southern city some 35 kilometres inland from the Azov Sea coast, and that Russia-backed rebels have achieved substantial victories in Donbas' eastern sector.
