Dubai: In a separate announcement made on Saturday, Ukraine and Russia swapped around 200 prisoners of war with the bodies of two British volunteers.

According to Andrey Ermak, chief of staff to the President of Ukraine, 116 Ukrainians were repatriated, while 63 Russian POWs were freed, according to Russian news agencies citing Moscow's Defense Ministry.

116 of our people, including Kherson partisans, Bakhmut (front) snipers and our other heroes, managed to return, Yermak wrote in a telegram.

Ermak said the bodies of British aid volunteers Chris Parry and Andrew Bagshaw had been returned to Ukraine. According to Parry's family, Bagshaw and Parry died in January during a humanitarian evacuation effort in eastern Ukraine.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense the Russian soldiers released included members of the "sensitive category".
