New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India in September 2023 to attend the G20 Summit. Russia's G20 (Sherpa) Svetlana Lucas has said that I sincerely hope that President Putin will definitely come to India. However, in any case, the decisions in the final form will be determined by them. Earlier, Putin had distanced himself from the G20 summit in Indonesia. He sent Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Bali for the G20 Summit in his place.

Speaking to Russian news agency TASS on Friday ( December 9), Russia's G20 (Sherpa) Svetlana Lucas told the Russian news agency TASS, "I hope that definitely, the President of Russia will go to the G20 summit. But in any case, he will decide the final decision. Now that the next summit is next year, I can't say anything. The way I look at it now, it has all the possibilities.'' India took over the presidency of the G20 in Bali, Indonesia on December 1. Putin did not attend the G20 summit in Indonesia. He sent Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Bali in his place. Lucas said he expected the Russian president to attend the summit next year. However, the final decision is up to him.

The G20 or group of 20 countries is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies. Last month, Indonesia handed over the presidency of the G20 to India in the presence of PM Narendra Modi at the Bali summit.
