Moscow: Russian and Ukrainian media reported a number of explosions early on Sunday across the Russian-occupied Crimea, with Russian social media claiming that air defence systems were thwarting attacks.

Russian law enforcement agencies' Telegram channel Baza claimed that Ukraine launched a number of drones into the Crimean Peninsula, with Russian air defence shooting down at least one of them over the port of Sevastopol. There were none, according to early information from the channel.
Explosions occurred in Sevastopol, Saki, and a few other locations on the Crimean Peninsula that Russia annexed in 2014, according to Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels. Saki is home to a Russian air base.

The past two weeks have seen an increase in attacks on Russian-controlled targets, particularly in Crimea. Without denying any involvement in those attacks, Ukraine claims that destructing infrastructure is a prelude to its upcoming ground offensive.
