Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Tuesday that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has committed to a new "Marshall Plan" for Ukraine, implying that the United States and its allies will back the plan.

Zelenskyy stated in a video uploaded on Telegram, "For Ukraine, a new Marshall Plan will be implemented. This support package will be put together by the West. This was stated by the British Prime Minister today. He is a man of his word and a true friend of Ukraine."

According to CNN, the Marshall Plan was a post-World War II plan to rebuild Europe in order to stave off Communist influence, according to the US Office of the Historian, Foreign Service Institute.

"The European Union is already expected to make painful decisions. Sanctions. Against the Russian Federation. For the sake of this fight. For this act of aggression, which its perpetrators will come to regret. They'll do it. Certainly. That is why the Russian leadership must recognise that the world will follow the lead of the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia, Japan, and other free countries. As a result, the world cannot be deceived. Sanctions are unavoidable " he said. Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for offering to phase out Russian oil and oil products imports by the end of 2022.
