S Jaishankar greets new Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong

New Delhi: On Monday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar congratulated Senator Penny Wong on her appointment as Australia's Foreign Minister.

After Joe Morrison's election loss to Australian Labor Party leader Anthony Albanese, who has already been sworn in as the new prime minister, Wong was appointed foreign minister.

"I would like to share my thoughts with our Pacific family on my first day as Foreign Minister. Our region is confronted with enormous challenges, but we will meet them front on.
