New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar lashed out at Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi. Jaishankar said that the land he was talking about was occupied by China in 1962. But, from his (Rahul Gandhi's) words, it seems as if it happened yesterday or the day after tomorrow. While talking to reporters, Jaishankar did not name Rahul Gandhi but definitely said that he is a politician and will not reveal his weak aspects.

Taking a jibe at Rahul, Jaishankar said that if I lack in thinking, I will talk to my army or intelligence. I don't call the Chinese ambassador and ask for my news. In fact, Rahul Gandhi recently spoke on a report on the loss of territory in Ladakh. As per reports, India has lost 26 out of 65 patrolling points in East Ladakh. According to media reports, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on the confrontation between Indian and Chinese forces in Ladakh that, 'Sometimes they spread the news that they know is wrong. They present it as if it happened now, whereas it actually happened in 1962, he (Rahul) will not talk about it.

In fact, on the loss of the Ladakh region, recently Rahul targeted the central government citing a report of a senior police officer. The report said that India has lost access to 26 out of 65 patrolling points in eastern Ladakh. The report was filed at a conference of the country's top police officers in Delhi, which was attended by PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.

On this whole development, Jaishankar said in Pune on Saturday (January 28) that, 'If I need to know something on China, I will not go to the Chinese ambassador to take inputs, but to my military leadership.' Actually, Rahul Gandhi said a few days ago that it is my job to get information on important issues. I met the Chinese Ambassador (to India), ex-NSA (National Security Advisor), Congress leaders of NE (Northeast), and the Bhutanese Ambassador.
