Kochi: Police stopped a 12-year-old girl who was going to see Lord Ayyappa at the famous Sabarimala temple in Kerala. During the online booking, the age of the girl was stated to be 10 years, but when the police saw her Aadhar card during the search, according to it, her age turned out to be 12 years. After that, the girl was not allowed to go beyond the Pamba camp, although her family moved forward.

It is noteworthy that the doors of the temple of Lord Ayyappa in Sabarimala, Kerala, were opened on Saturday. On Saturday, 10 women who entered the temple were returned back from outside. The women were returned from the Pamba base camp, which was also opposed. Social activists said that preventing women from entering the temple is against the Supreme Court verdict.

A 5-judge bench headed by former Chief Justice Gogoi gave a historic verdict last year about the entry of women between the ages of 10 and 50 into the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Three judges of the 5-member bench had given the verdict on the right of women to enter the temple. A review petition has been filed on this decision, which has now been sent to the Constitution Bench for hearing.
